California Bachelor of Science Nursing Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Department of Health Care Access and Information
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing Scholarship Program (BSNSP) is designed to boost the number of adequately trained nurses delivering direct patient care in a recognized facility within California. The Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI) is committed to expanding and diversifying the healthcare workforce in California by offering scholarships and loan repayments to students and graduates of health professions who provide direct patient care in these communities.
The BSNSP is financed through a $10 surcharge applied to the renewal and licensure fees of Registered Nurses (RN) in California. Eligible applicants who commit to a 12-month service obligation, where they practice and deliver direct patient care in an underserved community, can receive up to $10,000. The primary objective of this program is to enhance the number of suitably trained Registered Nurses (RNs) delivering direct patient care in underserved regions or recognized facilities within California.
