Emile H. Mathis II Scholarship Fund
The Emile H. Mathis II Scholarship Fund honors the life and work of Emile Mathis, a University of Wisconsin–Superior alumnus, and supports the next generation of artists at UWS. The award is intended for students who are or will be degree-seeking within UWS’s Visual Arts Department. Emile Mathis, a UWS graduate, founded the Mathis Gallery and Frame Shop in Racine, Wisconsin, and became known for assembling a distinctive print collection—ranging from Rembrandt to Whistler—proceeds from which helped establish this scholarship.
