Adam D. Ellis Memorial Scholarship

Overview
This scholarship was created in 2014 by Adam’s family in his loving memory to support local students continuing their education after high school. It provides one-time financial assistance to Dakota Valley High School seniors who plan to enroll in an accredited two- or four-year college or university.
Key dates
- Application available: November 1
- Application deadline (must be received by): February 1
- Final decisions announced: April 15
Who may apply
- Graduating seniors of Dakota Valley High School (North Sioux City, South Dakota)
- Minimum cumulative GPA: 2.5
- Demonstrated participation in employment, school extracurriculars and/or community activities
How recipients are chosen
Recipients are selected based on academic record during high school, involvement in school and/or community service, and the strength of the applicant’s essay.

- Amount: $500
- Term: One-time award; not renewable
