Midwestern Regional Chapter Scholarship

Introduction
This scholarship has specific eligibility rules. Below are the requirements you must meet for general consideration and for the KWVD-specific award. All criteria refer to your status for the entire 2025–2026 academic year.
General Eligibility
- Heritage: You must be of Korean background — for example, having a Korean parent, grandparent, or great-grandparent, or having been adopted from Korea.
- Enrollment: You must be enrolled full time at an institution located in one of the designated Midwestern states for the full 2025–2026 school year. Eligible states: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
- Academics: A cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 is required.
- Financial need: Applicants must be able to demonstrate financial need.
KWVD Scholarship — Additional Criteria
- Heritage link to a veteran: You must be a direct descendant of a Korean War veteran who served in Korea between June 25, 1950 and January 31, 1955 (the Korean War era as defined by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs).
- Enrollment: Same requirement as above — full-time enrollment at a school in one of the listed Midwestern states for the entire 2025–2026 academic year.

Your application will be assigned to a category based on the status you will hold during the 2025–2026 school year. Categories:
- High school rising juniors and seniors
- High school seniors planning to begin college in 2025–2026
- College freshmen, sophomores, and juniors
- College seniors
- Graduate students
