- Each year Texas Farm Bureau distributes more than $532,000 in scholarship awards across multiple programs to support students at different stages of their education.
- The 2026 scholarship application window opens December 1, 2025, and closes March 2, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.

Donation information
- To contribute to the Texas Farm Bureau Scholarship Funds, please mail a check payable to “Texas Farm Bureau” and note “TFB Scholarships” in the memo line.

- Note: Texas Farm Bureau is a 501(c)(5) organization; contributions to these scholarship funds are not tax-deductible.

High school applicant eligibility
High school students may apply for the following scholarships:
- TFB District Honorary/Memorial Scholarships
- TFB Young Farmer & Rancher Scholarship for High School Students
- TFB Dick Mitchell Memorial Scholarship
- Jana Middleton Student Success Series Memorial Scholarship
Collegiate scholarships and eligibility
Mia Balko Student Teaching Scholarship
- Named in memory of Mia Balko, former director of youth outreach and TFB scholarship coordinator and former agricultural science teacher.
- Four senior agricultural education students will receive this $6,000 scholarship each semester to assist with expenses during an off-campus student teaching semester.
- Students planning off-campus student teaching in Fall 2026 are encouraged to apply.
- Current status: applications are closed; recipients will be announced in mid-December.

S.M. True, Jr. Agricultural Scholar Award
- Established to honor former TFB President S.M. True Jr.
- The primary award is $25,000 for a college student pursuing an undergraduate degree, with at least 60 semester hours completed and an agricultural major.
- Four additional finalists will each receive a $5,000 scholarship.
- Eligibility requirement: the applicant must come from a Farm Bureau member-family that has held membership for at least three years at the time of application.
- Applicants are encouraged to apply near the end of their sophomore year for this flagship scholarship.

Young Farmer & Rancher (YF&R) Enrolled Scholarship
- For students already enrolled in college working toward an undergraduate degree.
- Applicants must have completed a minimum of 30 credit hours, maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher, and plan to pursue a career in agriculture.
- Three scholarships of $2,500 each will be awarded.

Rural Veterinary Scholarship
- In its fifth year of awards.
- Four scholarships of $20,000 each will be granted; in addition, four finalists will receive $2,500 each.
- Eligibility: applicants must be in their second or third year of veterinary school at Texas A&M University or Texas Tech University, have a GPA of at least 2.5, and intend to enter a rural and/or food-animal veterinary practice in Texas after graduation.

Texas State Technical College (TSTC) Scholarship
- Scholarship funds are available for first-year students attending Texas State Technical College.
- Seventy $1,000 scholarships will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
- An additional $20,000 is allocated to the TSTC Helping Hands Fund to assist students with unexpected expenses that are not covered by standard academic financial aid.
