Overview
Created in 2017 by the Akron Community Foundation (ACF), an affiliate of the Siouxland Community Foundation, this scholarship is intended to help graduating high school seniors continue their education at an accredited college or university.
Purpose
To provide financial support to graduating seniors who plan to enroll in post-secondary education at an accredited college or university.
Who may apply
- Graduating seniors from Akron-Westfield High School (Akron, IA)
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
- Active participation in extracurricular activities
How recipients are chosen
Award decisions take into account academic achievement during high school, involvement in school and/or community service, and demonstrated financial need.
Award
One-time scholarship of $500. This award is not renewable.
Application requirements
Applications must be submitted by the February 1 deadline and include:
- Completed online application
- Personal essay
- Official high school transcript
