Overview
The Boyle Endowment for Nursing Studies supports local students pursuing careers in nursing or nursing home administration. The fund is managed by the Siouxland Community Foundation in Sioux City, Iowa, and was created in 2001 by Boyle Companies to encourage community-level study in the nursing field.
Who may apply
Applicants must be graduating high school seniors enrolled at a school in one of the following communities: Creston, Onawa, Rock Rapids, or Shenandoah, Iowa; or North Platte, Nebraska.
Selection process
Recipients are chosen based on academic achievement in high school, ACT/SAT scores, involvement in school and community activities, employment history, and evaluation of the applicant’s essay.
Award
- Amount: $500
- Renewal: One-time award; not renewable
Application requirements
To be considered, applications must be submitted by the February 1 deadline and include:
- Completed online application (part of the SCF common application)
- Personal essay
- One (1) Character Counts recommendation
- Official high school transcript
