GBHEM Scholarships

Overview GBHEM Scholarships provides financial support to United Methodist students pursuing undergraduate and graduate study. Each year the program awards roughly $4 million to learners in the United States and internationally, helping students from diverse backgrounds complete degrees and prepare to lead in the church and the wider world. Who may apply (U.S. institutions) - Applicants must be enrolled at, or entering, an accredited higher education institution in the United States. - Eligible academic classifications include incoming first-year (freshman) students and current first-year, sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate students. - Applicants must be active members of a United Methodist Church. - A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale is required. - Candidates may not have already received GBHEM scholarship support for seven award years; those who have reached seven years are not eligible for an eighth year. Application timing and contact - The U.S. application cycle opens each January.
