ADEA/Haleon Preventive Dentistry Scholarship

The ADEA/Haleon Preventive Dentistry Scholarships are designed to provide financial assistance to predoctoral dental students who have shown exceptional academic performance in the field of preventive dentistry.
Program Details
Every year, the ADEA/Haleon Preventive Dentistry Scholarships are awarded to twelve predoctoral dental students. Each scholarship recipient will be granted $2,500.
Qualification Criteria
To be eligible, an applicant must:
- Be a full-time student in a recognized predoctoral dental program in the United States or Canada, with at least one year of the program completed.
- Exhibit a strong interest in preventive dentistry through personal activities and accomplishments.
- Maintain an excellent academic record.
- Receive a nomination from the dean of their dental school or the dean’s representative (each school can nominate up to three students).
- Hold an ADEA Individual Membership.
Application Procedure Checklist
Applicants are required to submit the following documents by Sept. 15, 2025, via the ADEA online application system.
- A letter from the dean detailing the applicant’s academic performance, accomplishments, and activities (research, community service, and program development) in preventive dentistry that exceed graduation requirements.
- A summary of the knowledge the student has acquired from their accomplishments and activities (research, community service, and program development) in preventive dentistry.
- An up-to-date curriculum vitae.
- Academic transcripts obtained from the applicant’s school registrar.
- Your ADEA profile information will be used for this scholarship application. Please ensure your profile is updated by visiting adea.org/myadea.
Anonymous applicant data will be utilized to enhance ADEA scholarships and may be published. Identified information (e.g., biographies) of successful applicants will be published on the ADEA website, shared with your home institution, and may be used in ADEA promotional material. By applying for this scholarship, you confirm that you have read and understood how your information may be used.
Announcement Date
Applicants will be informed of the scholarship results by Dec. 5, 2025.
The scholarship winners will be announced at the 2026 ADEA Annual Session & Exhibition, which will take place from March 21 to 24, 2026, in Montreal, Canada.
