Intro
The Rain Bird Corporation funds this scholarship to honor a high-achieving student pursuing studies in landscape architecture, horticulture, or irrigation science. It targets undergraduates in their final two years (third-, fourth-, or fifth-year students) who have demonstrated strong academic performance and an active commitment to their field through extracurricular involvement.

Eligibility
- Must be enrolled as an undergraduate in the last two years of study (third-, fourth-, or fifth-year).
- Must be studying landscape architecture, horticulture, or irrigation science.
- Should show commitment to the profession via extracurricular activities and notable scholastic achievement.
How to Apply
Follow the General Application Guidelines for instructions on the online application portal. Applications must comply with all stated guidelines and be submitted by the posted deadline to be considered. Materials submitted beyond the stated requirements will not be reviewed.
Required Application Materials
All applicants to LAF scholarships and fellowships must upload the following:
1. General Submission Form
- Complete the online form with your contact details and information about your degree program.
2. Photo
- Provide a color headshot in JPG format, at least 1800 x 1200 pixels.
- The image should be horizontally oriented, well lit, have a simple background, and show your full head and shoulders.
- LAF reserves the right to use submitted photographs on its website and in scholarship-related promotional materials.
3. Bio for the LAF Website (150-word maximum)
- Submit a short biography as a PDF, Word (.doc/.docx), or TXT file.
- In 150 words or fewer, summarize your background, current studies, future goals, and relevant interests or activities.
4. Resume (maximum 2 pages)
- Upload your resume or CV as a PDF, covering education, work experience, extracurricular activities, and honors/awards.
- Add Applicant Name / Resume / Scholarship Name and page number on every page.
Additional Requirement for This Scholarship
5. Essay (maximum 2 pages; 300 words or less)
- Upload an original essay as a PDF. In 300 words or fewer, describe your career objectives and explain how you will help advance the professions of landscape architecture, horticulture, or irrigation science.
- The essay must not exceed two pages, use minimum 1" margins, employ a 10-point (or larger) font, and contain no images or graphics.
- Include Applicant Name / Essay / Scholarship Name and page number on each page.
