Leaders Save Lives Scholarship Program
Scholarship Sponsored by American Red Cross
To be eligible for the Leaders Save Lives Program run by the American Red Cross, each Blood Program Leader must fulfill the following criteria:
a) They must be currently registered in a high school, college, university, technical school, trade school, or community college.
b) Organize an American Red Cross blood drive in the United States which is set to take place between May 26 and September 1, 2025.
- A student cannot take over an existing blood drive, but they can take over an existing Leaders Save Lives blood drive from a previous Blood Program Leader.
- Donor centers can only serve as blood drive locations if the drive is outside regular operating hours.
- Blood drives cannot be held at regularly scheduled mobile operation sites.
- A school can serve as a blood drive location as long as no classes are in session.
- Only one Blood Program Leader can manage a blood drive, and the rewards from the Program cannot be shared among multiple leaders. The student Blood Program Leader must be the primary contact listed in the Red Cross system of record.
- The Leaders Save Lives Program cannot be merged with the American Red Cross Sickle Cell Fighter High School Scholarship Program, High School Scholarship Program, or Community Club Program.
- Pints of blood collected from Leaders Save Lives blood drives will not contribute towards any other Red Cross scholarship program, including the Sickle Cell Fighter High School Scholarship Program and High School Scholarship Program.
c) The blood drive must gather a minimum of 25 viable pints of blood.
- The results will be drawn from a single blood drive operation.
- Multiple operations cannot be consolidated.
d) Every Leaders Save Lives Blood Drive must be distinctly labeled as such by the Red Cross representative at the drive level in the system of record.
