The basic requirements for applying for the Steckol and Stanley Scholarships offered by KSHA are as follows:
- Active enrollment in a program for speech-language pathology or audiology
- Transcript confirming GPA (no minimum required) and program enrollment
- Proof of academic excellence at the doctoral, graduate, or undergraduate level
- Proven financial need
- Current student membership with KSHA
- Defined professional objectives and philosophy
- Two recommendation letters
Materials Required for Submission:
- Filled out application (printable or online form available below)
- Transcript (for verification of GPA and enrollment)
- Updated résumé detailing academic achievements, employment history, and pertinent experiences
- Essay of 250-500 words addressing:
- Financial need
- Professional philosophy
- Future career aspirations in SLP or Audiology
- Two recommendation letters from faculty on school letterhead (should discuss financial need, academic preparedness, and/or research potential)
Responsibility of Award Recipient:
- Write a brief article for the KSHA Communicator describing the impact of the award and its utilization
All necessary documentation must be uploaded at the time of application submission.
A single application will be evaluated for both the Steckol and Stanley Memorial Fund Scholarships. There is no need to submit separate forms for each scholarship.
