Women's Division Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Joint Civic Committee of Italian Americans
Overview
The Women’s Division of the Joint Civic Committee of Italian Americans is offering several scholarships of $2,000 each to young women of Italian descent who will be graduating from high school at the end of the 2024–2025 school year. Awards will be presented at the Scholarship Benefit Fashion Show and Dinner on April 25, 2025, held at Drury Lane Oak Brook in Oak Brook Terrace, Illinois. Recipients must be present at this event to accept their award.
Eligibility
- Must be a resident of Illinois.
- At least one parent must be of Italian ancestry.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Must be a graduating high school senior for the 2024–2025 school year and planning full-time enrollment in an accredited 2- or 4-year college/university or an accredited vocational/technical school.
- Must attend the April 25, 2025 award presentation to receive the scholarship.
Selection Criteria
The committee intends to support well-rounded students who are committed to continuing their education and who demonstrate financial need.
Required Documentation (all items must accompany the application; no exceptions)
- Completed and signed application form with every question answered. If you need more space, you may attach additional sheets.
- Copy of current official high school transcript.
- Two letters of recommendation from non-family members who can speak to your motivation, potential, strengths, and character.
- ACT or SAT scores.
- An essay describing your Italian ancestry and explaining why you take pride in that heritage.
- A small photo of the applicant.
All requested materials must be submitted with the application package.
