John T. Fields & Associates, LLC has a long-standing history of providing legal assistance to families in various circumstances, including those affected by domestic violence or other forms of aggression that impact spouses, children, and other family members. We comprehend the profound effects of domestic violence on victims and understand the challenges faced by individuals trying to escape such situations, seek help, and cater to their and their children's needs while ensuring protection against further abuse or harassment. Consequently, we strive to create opportunities for individuals affected by domestic violence or those seeking to mitigate its impact on American families.
Through the John T. Fields & Associates, LLC Fight Against Domestic Violence Scholarship, we offer financial support to college students, aiding them in achieving their aspirations and contributing positively to society. Each semester, we award a $2,000 scholarship to a college student who has either experienced domestic violence or has a significant interest in devising solutions to these problems and safeguarding others from domestic abuse, harassment, and other types of family violence. To apply for our scholarship, please complete the application form below and submit all necessary information by October 8, 2025.
Who Can Apply for the Scholarship?
The Fight Against Domestic Violence Scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students who meet the following eligibility criteria:
- The applicant must be at least 18 years old.
- The applicant must be a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident of the United States.
- The applicant must be enrolled in or accepted into an undergraduate or graduate program at a U.S. college or university.
- The applicant must have been affected by domestic violence either personally or within their family, or they must have a significant interest in devising solutions to prevent domestic violence in the United States.
What Are the Application Procedures?
Students can apply for the Fight Against Domestic Violence Scholarship by filling out the form at the bottom of this page. The application must include the student's contact information, and proof of enrollment must be attached. Acceptable proof of enrollment includes an acceptance letter, academic transcript, class schedule, or other official documents from a college or university.
Applicants are also required to submit an essay of up to 1,000 words addressing the following questions:
What is the current impact of domestic violence on individuals in the United States? How grave is this issue? What measures can be implemented to address these concerns and decrease the number of people affected by domestic abuse?
What Are the Assessment Criteria?
The scholarship committee at John T. Fields & Associates, LLC will review all applications to ensure they meet the eligibility requirements. When assessing applicants' essays, we will consider the following:
- Does the essay adequately address the questions?
- Does the essay exhibit an understanding of the significance of tackling the issue of domestic violence?
- Is the essay well-structured and clearly articulated?
