Since 1980, Carrot-Top Industries, Inc. (Sponsor) has been a leading flag and patriotic products retailer, priding ourselves on a dedication to patriotism and community growth across America. Since the Fall of 2018, we have been helping low-income students living in rural areas with their college endeavors.
Details:
Level: College-bound graduating high school seniors, current college students, or adult learners.
Occurs: Bi-annually
Applicants: Must also reside in a rural area and meet low-income criteria outlined in the terms and conditions listed below.
Award:
$1,000 each Spring and Fall semester
Application Deadlines:
- Fall 2025: June 30, 2025
- Spring 2026: November 30, 2025
- Fall 2025 applications accepted starting December 1, 2024.
The Scholarship
Here's how we want to help students across America:
The Beacon Scholarship for Rural America will award $1,000 scholarships to ONE winner for the Spring and TWO winners for the Fall semester, to graduating high school seniors, current college students or adult learners planning to enroll in an accredited college program during the 2025-2026 academic year.
Who’s eligible?
To be eligible for this scholarship, the applicant must:
Applicants must be college-bound graduating high school seniors, current college students or adult learners with a GPA of 3.0 or higher (high school or college) who are planning to enroll in an accredited Bachelor's or Associates's program. Applicants must also reside in a rural area and meet low-income criteria outlined in the application below.
The winners will be chosen by the owners, management and staff of Carrot-Top Industries. The scholarship check will be sent directly to the winner's college or university.
How to Apply
Must provide an electronic copy of all documents below:
- An essay of approximately 750 words responding to the prompt: "How have you shown patriotism through your community involvement?"
- A copy of your most recent high school or college transcript
- Two letters of recommendation from teachers, coaches, counselors, other academic professionals or colleagues
- A current photo or school photo for marketing purposes
