Betty Harlan Memorial Art Scholarship

Introduction
Betty was full of life and constantly exploring new projects and pastimes. Deeply engaged in every branch of the visual arts, she took pleasure in sharing her creativity with others. This scholarship exists to encourage a student who maintains an imaginative, ever-curious mindset and who finds joy in making visual art.
Eligibility
To be considered, applicants must:
- Be a graduating high school senior.
- Live in Boone, Ogle, or Winnebago County.
- Intend to pursue a college program in visual arts, visual art education, or visual art history.
- Participate in clubs, groups, or activities centered on visual arts.
Selection Details
Academic record will be a moderate factor in the selection decision. For this award, “visual arts” refers to creative works meant to be experienced visually — for example, painting, sculpture, and film.
