Dr. Joseph and Sonya Landholm Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Nebraska Veterinary Medical Association
In 2001, the NVMA Centennial Scholarship Foundation was enriched by an endowed scholarship, established by Dr. Joseph and Sonya Landholm. This scholarship was created with the aim of promoting Veterinary Acupuncture. The Landholms, who were long-term residents of Nebraska, intended to support veterinary students and practitioners in their pursuit of certification in veterinary acupuncture. Dr. Landholm, a Life Member of the NVMA, was a pioneer in his field, being one of the first certified veterinary acupuncturists in the Midwest. He practiced in Lexington and later in Lincoln, Nebraska. The Landholms now live in Sedona, Arizona.
Who Can Apply?
Applications are welcomed from veterinary students who hail from Nebraska or from Nebraska licensed practitioners who are members of the NVMA.
Funding Details
At present, those awarded the scholarship can claim up to $4,500 in reimbursement for expenses incurred during their certification process. However, this reimbursement only covers expenses incurred after the application has been accepted. The NCSF acknowledges that most certification programs consist of multiple training sessions spread over several years. Reimbursements will be issued upon receipt of proof of attendance and a corresponding expense report for each session.
Submission of Applications
The NCSF board of directors reviews applications twice a year, during their meetings in January and September. To be considered, applications must be submitted by either January 1st or September 1st each year.
