Introduction
The Illinois Conservation Foundation annually presents the Conservation Achievement Scholarship to support and inspire emerging leaders dedicated to maintaining and improving a sustainable outdoor environment.
Award details
Each year up to four one-time scholarships of $2,000 each are awarded to distinguished Illinois high school seniors who have shown proven, voluntary, and sustained commitment to preserving, protecting, enhancing, or promoting Illinois’ natural resources.
Eligibility
Applicants must be residents of Illinois and enrolled as seniors in an Illinois high school during the year the scholarship is granted.
History
The program has been awarding scholarships since 2005 thanks to the generous support of many organizations and individuals. To date, $194,000 has been distributed among 95 recipients.
How to apply
The application period for the 2026 Conservation Achievement Scholarship is open now. Completed applications must be received by March 1, 2026 to be considered.
