2026 College Scholarship Opportunities — summary and requirements

1) Stewart Health Foundation Scholarship
- Award amount: $2,000 per year (renewable for up to four years if requirements are met).
- Use: Funds must be applied toward tuition, room and board, books and lab fees.
- Payment: $1,000 sent directly to the recipient’s chosen college at the start of each semester.
- Renewal conditions: Recipient must carry at least 12 credit hours each semester, maintain a minimum 2.50 GPA, and provide the Health Foundation with an official transcript at the end of every semester to receive the next disbursement.
- Number of awards: One scholarship is granted annually.

Eligibility (Stewart)
- Residency: Must reside in one of the following counties at the time of application and award (children of full‑time UK King’s Daughters team members are exempt from the residency rule):
- Kentucky: Boyd, Carter, Greenup, Lawrence
- Ohio: Lawrence, Scioto
- West Virginia: Wayne
- School status: High school senior.
- Field of study: Intending to enroll or already enrolling in a healthcare career program at an eligible institution in Kentucky, Ohio, or West Virginia.
- Academic requirements:
- Minimum 2.50 high school GPA on a 4.0 scale (or successful GED), and
- ACT score of 15 or higher OR SAT score of 700 or higher.
- Financial need: Applicants must demonstrate financial need for educational expenses.

2) Boyd County Medical Society Scholarship
- Award amount: $1,500 (one-year award; non‑renewable).
- Use: Covers first-year tuition, room and board, books and lab fees.
- Payment: $750 will be sent to the student’s chosen school at the start of each semester.
- Ongoing requirements: Recipients must enroll in at least 12 credit hours per semester, maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA, and submit a transcript to the Health Foundation at the end of each semester to receive the next payment.
- Number of awards: Four scholarships of $1,500 each will be awarded.

Eligibility (Boyd County Medical Society)
- Eligible schools: Applicant must be a senior at one of the following high schools:
- Boyd County High School
- Fairview High School
- Greenup County High School
- Paul G. Blazer High School
- Raceland High School
- Russell High School
- Relationship restrictions: Applicant cannot be the son or daughter of a current member of any of the following:
- Boyd County Medical Society
- UK King’s Daughters Board of Directors
- King’s Daughters Health Foundation Board of Directors
- Academic requirements:
- Minimum 3.0 GPA in high school (4.0 scale),
- ACT score of 20 or higher OR SAT score of 900 or higher.
- Financial need: Applicants must demonstrate financial need for educational expenses.

3) Edna & Mildred Monk Memorial Nursing Scholarship
- Award amount: $1,250 (one-year award; non‑renewable).
- Use: Payment intended for first-year tuition, room and board, books and lab fees.
- Payment: $625 will be sent to the recipient’s chosen school at the start of each semester.
- Number of awards: Five scholarships will be granted.

Eligibility (Monk Nursing Scholarship)
- Prerequisite: Applicant must be a child or grandchild of a UK King’s Daughters team member who is in good standing at the time of application and award.
- School status: High school senior.
- Field of study: Planning to enroll in a nursing program at an accredited educational provider in Kentucky, Ohio, or West Virginia.
- Academic requirements:
- Minimum 2.50 high school GPA on a 4.0 scale (or successful GED),
- ACT score of 15 or higher OR SAT score of 700 or higher.
- Financial need: Applicants must show financial need to cover educational expenses.
