Consider applying for a TMEA scholarship to aid in financing your educational pursuits.
Available for High School Graduates
Bill Cormack Scholarship: Offers $3,000 annually for a maximum of five years (one recipient chosen each year)
Past-Presidents Memorial Scholarship: Provides $2,500 annually for up to five years (one recipient selected each year)
Past-Presidents Scholarship: Grants $2,500 annually for a maximum of five years (one recipient chosen yearly)
Executive Board Scholarship: Allocates $2,500 annually for up to five years (one recipient selected yearly)
One-Year Scholarships: Offers $2,500 for a single year (several recipients chosen each year)
Qualification Criteria
- Applicants must be incoming full-time freshmen, as recognized by the Texas college or university they will be attending in the fall of 2025
- Applicants must be enrolled in a music degree program that leads to Texas teacher certification, with music as the main teaching field
Five References' Names & Emails
Provide the names and email addresses of five (5) individuals who can vouch for your potential success in an undergraduate music education program, your musical skills and abilities, work ethic, and other personal attributes. One of these evaluations must come from your primary ensemble director. These evaluations will be conducted online.
Brief Essay
Compose a brief essay (1-2 pages) outlining your motivations for wanting to become a teacher, your dedication to music education, and your future career aspirations. This document should be uploaded in either PDF or Microsoft Word format.
Professional CV
Submit a professional-style CV that includes any All-State groups you've participated in, any musical honors you've received, and any other academic or non-musical honors you've earned. This document should be uploaded in either PDF or Microsoft Word format.
