ACI Foundation Scholarships

The application period for the 2026–2027 academic year is now open. Before beginning your submission, go to the ACI Foundation website and carefully review the application instructions so you can assemble the required materials in advance. Preparing documents ahead of time will streamline the process. You may save a partially completed application and sign back in to revise or finalize it up until the deadline. Award recipients will be selected at the ACI Concrete Convention in the spring. Deadline - Applications must be submitted by 11:59 PM EDT on November 1, 2025. Any applications that remain incomplete at that time will be excluded from consideration. Scholarships and Fellowships 1) ACI 201 Undergraduate Concrete Durability Scholarship - Presented to an undergraduate who is enrolled in a degree program that includes coursework related to concrete construction, design, education, or materials, and who has demonstrated an interest in durability. 2) ACI Foundation Concrete Materials Fellowship - Available to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing studies and careers focused on concrete materials. Applicants should have an interest in the components that comprise concrete mixtures and their use in new construction applications. 3) ACI Foundation Concrete Practitioner - Awarded to undergraduates planning careers in construction or aiming to become design professionals. Applicants should show skills such as attention to detail, project management, interpersonal communication, and problem-solving, and should describe their capacity for innovation. 4) Richard D. Stehly Memorial Scholarship - For students enrolled in a baccalaureate program focused on concrete topics, especially structural design, materials, or construction. Your essay must devote roughly half of its content to describing personal efforts you have undertaken to promote sustainability within your community; essays lacking this description will not be considered. No internship is required. 5) Roger S. Johnston Memorial Scholarship - Open to undergraduates pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management, with a preference for those interested in concrete structural design or construction. Preference is given to students attending an accredited institution in Colorado or Wyoming and who are active student members of the Rocky Mountain Chapter – ACI. Applicants who are members in good standing of any ACI student chapter at an accredited U.S. institution will also be considered. A paid summer internship located in the Denver metro area may be offered but is not mandatory.
