Introduction
The Blandin Foundation scholarships continue Charles Blandin’s legacy by supporting the education and job-readiness of students from the local area.

Who can apply
- Students who attended high schools in the Itasca County area, as well as Hill City, Remer, Blackduck, Northome, and Bug O Nay Ge Shig schools are eligible — you do not have to be at the top of your class to apply.
- Homeschooled or online students who would have graduated from one of the listed schools may also apply.
- Applicants must be under age 25 and have a Student Aid Index (SAI) under 30,000 on their FAFSA.
- The scholarship supports study toward certificate programs, community, technical, or tribal colleges, and colleges/universities anywhere in the United States.
- Awards may be used up through a bachelor’s degree. This scholarship does not cover master’s, doctoral, post-doctoral, or other graduate-level programs.
Award amounts
Recipients can receive between $1,000 and $6,000 per year.

FAFSA: required step
A copy of your FAFSA Submission Summary is required to complete the Blandin scholarship application. Finish your FAFSA at studentaid.gov before applying. If you are facing obstacles completing the FAFSA, please reach out — staff can help and may consider special circumstances.
How to get your FAFSA Submission Summary (2025–26)
1. Sign in to your account at studentaid.gov.
2. Go to your dashboard.
3. Click the link for the processed 2025-26 FAFSA form.
4. Select the FAFSA Submission Summary button.
5. In the upper-right area of the page, click the “Print Submission Summary” link.
6. When the print dialog appears, choose “Print to PDF” or “Save as PDF” as the printer to save the document to your device.
