Westlake Village Community Foundation Scholarship — 2026
Overview
The Westlake Village Community Foundation is offering a general scholarship award of up to $3,500 to graduating high school seniors who are residents of the City of Westlake Village. Applicants must meet at least one of the eligibility categories listed below and have plans to continue their education in the coming year.
Eligibility
To qualify, a student must:
- Be a graduating high school senior and a resident of the City of Westlake Village; and
- Intend to enroll next year in a four-year university, community college, arts college, or a trade/technical school; and
- Meet one of the following three criteria:
1. Participation in Music, Art, or Performing Arts programs at their high school or through community organizations;
2. Demonstrated contribution to the community via volunteer work or community service; or
3. A stated intention to pursue a career path outside the traditional four-year college route, including enrollment in a trade or technical school.
Purpose
The scholarship is intended to help defray costs associated with the recipient’s continuing education.
Selection factors
Awards will be determined based on evidence of one or more of the following:
- Distinction or achievement in Music, Art, or Performing Arts (considering years of involvement and level of accomplishment, whether at school or in the community);
- Significant community service or volunteer contributions (including duration and impact);
- A persuasive personal statement outlining the desire to pursue a non-traditional postsecondary career via trade or technical training (or participation in career technical education classes at the high school or external programs).
Additional considerations include academic performance, school service, the quality of the applicant’s personal statement, the interview, and demonstrated financial need.
Application timeline and interviews
- Application deadline: March 31, 2026 at 5:00 pm.
- Interviews: Conducted in April 2026, with interviews scheduled for early April. Foundation members will review applications and interview finalists before making final selections.
- After we receive your application, you will get a confirmation email that includes the scheduled interview date options so you can reserve the time.
Members of the Foundation will review materials and interview applicants as part of the final selection process.
