Overview
WYSA awards six Mike Kabanica Scholarships each year — each recipient receives $1,000. The scholarship honors Mike Kabanica, a long-time WSA president. Awards go to graduating high school seniors who have demonstrated commitment and achievement during their high school careers. Six winners are chosen: three young women and three young men, selected for their dedication to soccer, strong academic performance, and community service involvement.
Eligibility
- Must be a high school senior graduating in spring 2025.
- Must be a WYSA member for the 2025–2026 season.
Application details and requirements
- Application deadline: March 13, 2026.
- You will be prompted to create a PlayMetrics account during the application process; creating this account is required to submit.
- The application must be completed by the applicant personally (not by a parent or guardian).
- Expect the application to require a substantial amount of time to finish.
- You must upload your academic transcript as part of the application.
- Letters of recommendation are required and must be uploaded while completing the application.
