Maine Mayflower Scholarships

Eligibility
Any high school senior (or equivalent) who is a direct descendant of a Mayflower passenger (1620) and who has a blood relative who is either a current member in good standing of the Maine Mayflower Society, a deceased member of the Society, or a Junior or Junior Life member, is eligible to apply. Scholarships are intended for GRADUATING HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS ONLY who plan to pursue further education. Up to three $1,500.00 scholarships are expected to be awarded annually.
Distribution of application materials
Application letters and forms will be mailed automatically to State Junior and Junior Life members who are high school seniors on or about November 15, 2025. If a Junior or Junior Life member has not received their packet by November 30, 2025, or if a prospective applicant is not a Junior member but wishes to apply, please contact the Scholarship Committee Chairman at the address shown below.
How to request an application
Members of the Society with eligible children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren who are not Junior members should encourage them to request an application. Requests for an application form must include the applicant’s full name, complete mailing address, email address, telephone number, and the name of and relationship to the Maine Mayflower Society member who provides sponsorship. Requests will be accepted through February 1 of the applicant’s senior year.
Application requirements
On the application form please include either your State Junior number or Junior Life membership number. If you do not have a Junior membership number, provide the name, state number, and relationship of your sponsoring relative.
Deadlines and notification
Completed scholarship application forms must be received at the address indicated below no later than March 10, 2026. Applications received after that date will not be accepted. Winners and the scholarship amounts will be notified within 60 days of the March 10, 2026 closing date.
