Emma Jo Spiegelberg Aspiring Leader Scholarship — $500
Overview
This $500 award supports an educator who is pursuing administrative leadership credentials with the goal of becoming a school administrator.
Eligibility
- Candidate must be employed at a school where the Principal or an Assistant Principal is a current WASSP member in good standing.
- Applicant must be enrolled in a course or program that leads to an administrative endorsement.
Application deadlines and award disbursement
- Submit the completed application and all recommendation letters in electronic format to the Executive Director of WASSP by January 15.
- The recipient will be issued a $500 check from WASSP after providing proof of registration in the leadership/administrative course or program.
Required application materials
Provide the following information:
- Applicant’s full name
- School name
- Principal’s name, email address, and phone number
- Applicant’s street address and email address
Attach the following documents:
- A letter of recommendation from the WASSP-member Principal
- Two additional letters of recommendation from teachers or other administrators
- A current resume
- A personal essay explaining why you want to become a school leader
Wyoming Association of Secondary School Principals (WASSP) Student Scholarship — $500
Overview
This $500 scholarship is available to a Wyoming high school senior whose school’s Principal or Assistant Principals are WASSP members.
Nomination and eligibility
- Each Wyoming high school may nominate one senior candidate for consideration by the WASSP review panel.
- The nominated student must attend a school where the Principal or Assistant Principals are members of WASSP.
Application deadlines and award disbursement
- All applications and letters of recommendation must be submitted electronically to the Executive Director of WASSP by January 15.
- The selected student will receive a $500 check from WASSP after providing proof of full-time enrollment at a post-secondary institution.
Required application materials
Include the following information:
- Student’s full name
- Principal’s name, email address, and phone number
- School name
- Student’s street address
Attach the following documents:
- A letter of recommendation from the WASSP-member Principal
- Two additional letters of recommendation from teachers or other administrators
- A current official transcript
- An essay titled “What my current educational plan is and why my principal selected me”
Submission note
All materials for either scholarship must be sent in digital form to the Executive Director of WASSP by the January 15 deadline.
