James A. McCavitt and Annie LePors McCavitt Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Silicon Valley Community Foundation
Introduction
This scholarship was established by James McCavitt after reading a newspaper article about the Sze Lee Memorial Scholarship, which had previously been managed by the Peninsula Community Foundation. He created the award to honor his parents, James A. McCavitt and Annie LePors McCavitt, and to keep their memory alive in the Tussey Mountain School District and the Broad Top community of Pennsylvania. Mr. McCavitt wishes their example to inspire students, reflecting their admonition: "Get an education and make something of yourselves."
