Intro The Texas Section of the Society for Range Management (TSSRM) sponsors an annual $2,500 college scholarship funded by the Bill Wyche, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund. This award supports deserving students—especially those finishing high school—who plan to pursue studies and a career in agriculture. About SRM The Society for Range Management (SRM) is a professional organization for people who work with rangelands and who are committed to their sustainable use. Rangelands make up nearly half of the world’s land area. SRM promotes conservation and responsible management of these lands for the benefit of present and future generations. Application materials Applicants must submit all of the following: - A typed scholarship application. - Three letters of reference/recommendation. References should comment on topics such as academic performance, financial need, character, leadership, and similar impressions of the applicant. - A certified high school or college transcript. Send these required items by mail to the Chairman of the Bill Wyche, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund Committee. Eligibility To qualify for the scholarship an applicant must meet all of the following: - Plan to major in an agriculture-related field. - Be a high school senior, a college student, or a graduate student (applications accepted from any of these categories). - Demonstrate financial need. - Show academic achievement. - Intend to actively pursue a career in agriculture. - Not have previously received the Bill Wyche, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Award.
