Thank you for your interest in the Palumbo Family Foundation scholarship program. The program is open to high school seniors and undergraduates with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Please read through the rules and requirements before starting the application process. If you do not meet any of the rules and requirements you are ineligible for the scholarship program. Understand that exceptions cannot and will not be made to any of the requirements.

The application period for the 2024 scholarship program is January 1 through midnight March 31, 2024. Application submitted after midnight on March 31st will not be accepted.

Eligility Checklist

Permanent Resident

Permanent resident for a minimum of 6 months prior to application date in Cook, Dupage, Kane, Lake, or Will counties of Illinois. IF selected as finalist, a copy of Illinois driver's License or Illinois state identification reflecting the address provided on the application will be required as verification.

US Citizen

US Citizen - IF selected as a finalist, proof of citizenship is required for verification. Students with a Visa, permanent resident, or in the Naturalization process are not eligible.

Grade Point Average

Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or above. IF selected as a finalist, a complete transcript reflecting a GPA of 3.0 or above is required for verification.

Enrollment

Will enroll full time or part time undergraduate course work at an accredited 2- or 4-year college, university, vocational, or trade school beginning with the 2024 fall term through the 2025 spring term. The scholarship program is not open to graduate students.

Income Verification

IF selected as a finalist, a 2023 1040 Federal Income Tax Return reflecting an Adjusted Gross Income of $65,500 or less on which the applicant is claimed as a dependent is required for income verification. No other document will be accepted for verification. Note: An IRS Tax Account Transcript is not the same form as a 1040 Federal Income Tax return and will not meet the requirement.

References

IF selected as a finalist, two or more references from a teacher, coach, religious organization, or supervisor of a community service program. (1. College application references are not acceptable. 2. References should be on letterhead and addresses to the Palumbo Family Foundation. References dated prior to the finalist notification date will not be accepted.)

Media Consent

IF selected as a scholarship recipient, you consent to have your name and photo being used for the Palumbo Family Foundation’s promotional materials including, but not limited to website post, yearly newsletters, and fundraising event programs.
