CRA Outstanding Undergraduate Researchers Award
Scholarship Sponsored by Computing Research Assocation
The CRA Outstanding Undergraduate Researcher Awards program is designed to honor undergraduate students from North American universities and colleges who demonstrate exceptional promise in the field of computing research. While it is anticipated that successful candidates will possess strong academic records and have participated in some form of service, such as club leadership, teaching, or peer tutoring, the primary criterion for selection is research excellence.
Who Can Apply:
The 2025-2026 award is open to students who are enrolled as undergraduates in North American colleges or universities in Fall 2025. The nomination form must include the electronic signature of the chair/head of the nominee's home department, confirming the nominee's good standing and eligibility for the award. All nominations must be endorsed by the chair/head of the nominee's home department. Please note that students cannot nominate themselves.
Nomination Limit Per Department:
Departments that offer Ph.D. programs in a computing field can nominate up to four students annually. However, departments that do not offer Ph.D. programs in a computing field are limited to nominating two students each year.
Award Details:
Several Undergraduate Researcher Awards will be presented annually. Each awardee will be granted financial support of up to $1,500 to attend a research conference of their choosing. Additionally, some nominees will be recognized as runners-up, finalists, and honorable mentions. The names of award recipients, runners-up, finalists, and honorable mentions will be published on our website and they will be notified via email in mid-December. These students will also receive certificates of their awards through the mail.
