Dushinske & Jamison Water Resources Scholarship — Applications are now being accepted for the 2026 Dushinske & Jamison Water Resources Scholarship. Submissions are due by the Spring deadline. Scholarship recipients for 2026 will be announced in May 2026.
Overview
The Dushinske & Jamison Water Resources Scholarship Endowment was established through a partnership between the North Dakota Water Education Foundation (NDWEF) and the North Dakota Community Foundation to honor Russ Dushinske and Warren Jamison. The endowment recognizes their leadership, service, and lifelong dedication to water development in North Dakota. NDWEF Executive Director Dani Quissell emphasizes that this legacy enables annual support for emerging water leaders through scholarship awards.
Who is eligible
- Must be a student from North Dakota attending a college or university located in North Dakota.
- Applicants studying water-related disciplines or those from families actively involved in managing the state’s water resources will receive preference, though other qualified students are encouraged to apply.
Scholarship awards
- Four scholarships will be awarded for 2026.
- Each scholarship is $1,500.
- Recipients are expected to attend the Annual North Dakota Water Convention Awards Banquet on December 10, 2026, and must present their winning essay either in person or virtually.
How winners are announced
- The 2026 scholarship recipients will be announced in May 2026.
- Results will be published in North Dakota Water magazine.
Application requirements
- Essay (attach): A two-page, double-spaced essay in 12-point type on the topic: YOUR MOST VIVID MEMORY CONCERNING WATER.

4. Career plans following college graduation
5. Your reason(s) for applying for this scholarship
