Introduction
For 2026 the Kit Faragher Foundation will award five scholarships of $16,000 each to graduating high school seniors from Colorado. One of these awards is reserved specifically for a graduating senior from a Montrose County, Colorado high school in recognition of that community’s support during recent fundraisers. Please note the Foundation has discontinued the Geauga County, Ohio scholarship.
Eligibility and Award Details
- Awards available: Five (5) scholarships of $16,000 each for graduating Colorado high school seniors.
- Montrose designation: One scholarship is set aside for a student whose transcript shows graduation from a Montrose County, Colorado high school. Montrose applicants are also eligible to be considered for the four remaining statewide scholarships.
- Residency/School requirement: Applicants must be graduating from a Colorado high school.
- Minimum GPA: 2.5 high school cumulative GPA.
- Financial need: Applicants must demonstrate significant financial need.
- Personal qualities: Candidates should show a positive attitude, strong commitment, and motivation to achieve.
Application Materials
Applicants must submit:
- A fully completed application form.
- An official high school transcript.
- A written essay that reflects the applicant’s personality and accomplishments and outlines both short-term and long-term goals.
Deadline and Submission Instructions
- Paper/mail: All Colorado applications, essays, and official high school transcripts must be received by the Kit Faragher Foundation at P.O. Box 12440, Denver, Colorado 80212 no later than Friday, April 17, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.
- Electronic: A single scanned .pdf containing the application, essay, and official transcript may be emailed to kitfaragherfoundation@gmail.com and must be received by the same April 17, 2026 deadline at 5:00 p.m.
